Review:
Okay, hold on
Give me a moment
As I catch my breath
And gather my thoughts
For this book
Has left me
In a tornado of
Myriad of emotions

No, I wasn't taking a dig at the author - but I definitely am trying to make a point here. Let me begin from beginning...

Truthfully, I loved the book and on the onset of this review I was just about ready to give this book a five star rating - but then, all the things that nagged me, came back to me.
I am no writer / poet, but at times, I also do try to write poems - you would have seen my feeble attempt at that in preceding posts. Anyway, when I "try" to write poetry, I tend to work hard on rhyming to make it sound poetic - but then I came across this book, of the genre - poetry, and I thought, what the heck am I doing if this is poetry?
No, this ain't a poetry, hitting an "enter" after every few words won't make it poetry. If the book had come across as a collection of blog posts or essays, say something like random musings of a wandering soul - my I would have rated it at six stars out of five...
Yes, this book is a beautiful collection of thoughts, experiences and everything else that makes Rupi Kaur, Rupi Kaur. Every word resonates with you, each sentence stirs your soul - every emotion comes crashing down - filling your heart, your mind and your body with radiance.
These "thoughts" are pure, raw and beautiful. They fill you up. They make you want to shout and then cry out in pain, till the pain is washed out and a calm fills you up and then suddenly, it makes you want to laugh your heart out. And then, in the end, it makes you get up, hug yourself and love yourself.
This book heals you - in ways unknown to you. And that, my dear friend, is why, each one of you, every girl out there, should read this book and give Rupi a chance to help you see yourself in a newer light.

Pick it up, and immerse yourself in this intimidating and yet, strangely soothing book that will create a havoc inside you and drown you in torrential downpour of disturbing reality.

Written Affair : All Alone

This poem highlights the fact that whatever we do in our life time, we still come alone in this world and leave alone. No one accompanies us in either of these two situation, but human beings are still afraid of being alone... They forget, that they themselves are the only people who stay with themselves till the end and then afterwards and thus never enjoy the lone time they get... A baby born, Comes alone... Then why does he, For a company craves... So why does he, For some love craves...? Why does he wants, To be accepted... Why does he needs, To be wanted...? What does he need,  Friends for... What does he fear,  Making enemies for...? Why does he smile, When he finds someone... Why does he cry, On loss of someone...? Why does he have to, Feel lonely... Why, when no one's around Should he want some company...? For an old man dead, Dies all alone...!
